We are delighted to announce that we are finalists for 3 awards in the prestigious Health Tech News Awards.
Patchs is a finalist for:
Patchs is a next-generation online consultation system powered by artificial intelligence triage and workflows. We help practices to manage rising demand whilst improving patient access. Our goals are to tackle key issues in primary care, including workload management, health inequalities, and long waiting times.
At present, Patchs supports over 1,000+ GP practices and 10m+ patients. Our technology enables easy two-way communication between patients and their GP practice, helping patients to get the help they need, when they need it. Patchs also helps GP practices to increase their productivity.
Patchs has been implemented at-scale across multiple regions including North West London, Cheshire and Merseyside, West Yorkshire and North Central London. Since implementation, results have shown improvements in workload management: in practices where Patchs are used, 85 percent of all requests are now dealt with fully online. Additionally, there has been a 20 percent reduction in self-care patients submitting requests, and only 22 percent of health requests require a face-to-face appointment. Telephone calls have reduced by 50 percent.
Our integration of Artificial Intelligence into the Patchs online consultation system is a crucial feature which is helping to improve clinical safety. Patchs AI is trained and moderated by clinicians. It is estimated to detect 94 percent of all urgent and emergency patient requests correctly. This helps to reduce waiting times – an average resolution time for a high usage Patchs region is 5.6 hours.
University of Manchester research has found that many older patients find Patchs easier to navigate than expected. They say it is their preferred method for contacting the GP practice. Similarly, patients who struggle with telephone or in-person appointments find it easier to use Patchs. This includes patients with hearing loss, anxiety, and autistic spectrum disorders.
It has always been our aim with Patchs to make healthcare simpler, safer, and more accessible to all.
Our thanks to the HTN judges for selecting us – we are truly honoured to be on such a fantastic list.
We would also like to extend our thanks to the GP Practices and patients whose valuable input has made Patchs what it is today.
Finally, good luck to the other finalists!
Results will be announced on the 12th October.
